Lost in Darkness [2.0.18]

you still need to go to "options" > "hud options" > "alternative hud" and disable "enable alternate hud". In the settings, you can assign keys to use items. Running throws an error, but you can go to HUD Options > Message Options and turn off Show Message to not see the error.

I will try it.

it seems to work it will take a few days to set up the key binds as no one has said what online what's the best key binds for this mod.

For delta touch users: in the control settings, you must enable "Digital move (WASD)" in order for running to work. Also, when using a gamepad, there may also be problems with running

Made account just for you buddy, fantastic mod. All i came on here to say is that your crosshair placement doesn't line up with the iron sites on some weapons.

Edit: Also the bible breaks when autosaves are turned off. How the hell do you get the hands on off you lol.

Edit #2: Not stopped send help... do you have a discord?

Edit #3:

[2.0.7]

Many bugs have been fixed, gameplay has been improved, the spawn of books and flares has been increased, now the player will not be able to take medicine by mouth if he is wearing a gas mask, the amount of energy in the batteries has been increased, a can of water now restores 25 HP instead of 15, a tablet 20 HP instead of 15.

weapons don't reload:
perhaps they do? but when hitting R i get stuck in a reloading animation.
(found it. it is not intuitive. and lock you into a 2 button chore to just reload. no point in this.)

game save as an autosave:
i understand the goal of making it harder with using a book to save. but that makes the saves as autosave and thus geting deleted after multiple autosaves.

i would like to be able to save normally.

no names on selected items:
half the item i don't know what they do. this is a design issue.

guns are too slow to switch:
this is not vanilla. switching through guns takes ages.
it would be so much better if you could switch between weapons faster.

in such a setting, not enough ammo is a big problem... even when there is only 1 or 2 monsters in a level:
you don't see how much you have left on the HUD.
melee sucks hard. it is slow, clunky, and if you are tired you can't even swing that axe. and you will be forced to go melee.

on a positive note, i like the monsters and the atmosphere. but the gameplay is more frustrating than fun.

the mod has many cool features and feels kinda solid already. but there is some design problem here and there which doesn't make the experience much enjoyable.
game design > realism. keep that in mind. :)

Thanks for the comment. Basically, I only agree with the fact that it may not be clear what kind of items are in the inventory and with autosaves, I’ll think about the rest. A mod shouldn't be fun in the traditional sense. In general, I carefully adjusted the balance of the mod, and basically it plays as it should. I don't experience any big problems when playing. It's all about your skills

Almost through the third episode of the original doom with this amazing mod.  Admittedly it was a heck of a learning curve without a guide, but I did just discover today that the little tan thing in my inventory is a battery for my headlamp!  I was thinking that the head lamp goes too quickly, but now that I know I can recharge it the mechanic makes so much more sense.

Is there a way to find any more grenades?  I've searched high and low, but never found any.

Keep up the good work!  This mod is amazing.

[2.0.9]

Bug fixes. Enemies such as the Gargoyle and the Wither (who approaches the screen and teleports) have become weaker. Added the ability to hold the wrench before hitting (like axes). The spawn of grenades has been slightly increased (they can be picked up from corpses). Slightly increased the chance of getting more ammo from the magazine. The pistol's recoil has been reduced. And other fixes

Thanks for the comment. Currently, grenades can be picked up from corpses. You can also read some tips here in the spoiler or in the archive with the mod (Sometimes there may be more tips on the site)

The hud of the gas mask has been slightly reworked. Now you can’t see in the dark with it, and it’s now correctly stretched onto the screen (sort of). Hazmat suit now has 60 durability instead of 30
