[On Hold] Doom 32x: Delta

In the source code, it's 24. I would LOVE to chage it to 9, I spent hours with HEX editor, but, alas, I had bad luck. But I still didn't give up, he-he-he! As soon as all this university stuff will easen, I'll try again

But in this playthrough, the player finishes level 3 through the secret exit and enters level 17 which is the secret map.

Yes, yes, but don't confuse the level number and the MAPxx lump. Like, level 17 loads MAP24

Exactly. Also for the pillar not lowering thing, it seems to inconsistently lower (It sometimes work and sometimes doesn't, I have no idea why and/or how to fix it). I don't have any idea why the music array is bugged, the music plays on E1M9/MAP24 for me. What emulator are you using? That might be the problem. I use Kega Fusion.

When I select Level 24 in the menu, why does it load the secret map without music? And when I select Level 17 it throws an error but the correct music plays? Confusing ... I think I had normal music when I played the secret map in the normal progression of my playthrough. Anyway, it is the same song as the boss level against the Barons, the song Sign of Evil. And it sounds atrocious on the 32X :D

By the way if you move around the sectors of the stairs and the pillar in that map maybe the problem will go away. I mean it will look the same to the player, just move them around a bit. Or make the pillar a bit bigger to make sure the monsters aren't getting stuck. Maybe that's why it sometimes gets stuck.

Look: the music depends on a level, and NOT on a MAPxx lump. Using level select loads MAPxx, BUT the intermission has a special code which loads the correct map (MAP23 instead of MAP16 and so on). Maybe I'll try explaining that with a video, although my English is so-so

OK, so normally the secret map has music but not when warping to it from the menu?

Anyway, the song Sign of Evil sounds really bad and is played in both the secret level and the boss level. That and the pillar lowering bug are my only complaints.

For the pillar that's fixable, as for Sign of Evil its a little bit less bad than the original 32x Sign of Evil.

Episode 2 development has truly started but I don't have anything to show so uh...Yeah. Sorry about that.

By the way, haven't you already converted episode 4 for the 32X?

I have, but it used the 32x textures.

Anyways, E2M1 is finished! Here is a video of me totally not getting stopped by Pinkies.

Awesome! When this is finished I may try to port (a heavily condensed version of) Sigil over.

Edit: Actually I might do it now

I should warn you it will need a lot of work to simplify maps. I've tried to do this for PSX Doom, and it was hard even with PS1 possibilities. But I want to see Sigil on 32x, no doubt.

I know. That's why I said "heavily condensed". I'll still try to get it working though.

Also, how did you make the PSX Doom maps? Which editor or nodebuilders? I searched online and couldn't find anything.

The Spider MM?

Exactly. It's not 100% certain though, so don't take my word for it.

Been a while, eh? Sorry about that, was busy making other stuff. E2M3 and E2M9 are complete with no geometrical simplifactions, Ill have a video soon. Oh and while there will be no Spider Mastermind, there will be some peanuts.

E3M3 is well underway, the music will be switched to "Intermission from DOOM" and I'll fix the light area from lagging the player. E2M9 is also done, so we only have E2M2, E2M4, E2M5, E2M6, E2M7 and finally E2M8 to do.

E2M8 is now finished. I won't reveal you everything but, uh...Let's say the Cyberdemon got annihilated.

E2M2 is starting development, sadly the nuts.wad secret level will not be available in the version due to it taking a lot of space. Maybe in a future 32x megawad, perhaps? We'll have to see. Also while there IS DeHackEd for 32x and we are using it for the special final boss of Episode 2, we can't actually add or edit the states themselves so Cyberdemons and Spider Masterminds are out of question.

Could you use the MegaCD to stream the 3DO soundtrack, to do something about the... questionable... 32x music. (Or convince BlastProcessed to do a new soundtrack!)

The music has already been slightly improved, but I dunno if we will be able to stream the 3DO soundtrack.

E2M2 is causing a few problems, (I managed to break the rendering engine with the WAD one time, somehow) but it should be done tommorow. Also huge thanks to everyone that have been supporting this project and keeping on the updates!
