DooM PBR materials pack for episode one (available resolutions: 256, 512 and 1K)

Which of these downloads presents the textures in their original resolution?

None, because main goal of the project is to recreate all textures in a higher quality, not the same quality. 256 version is closest to the original - textures are only in 2x higher resolution (256 for 128 textures and 128 for 64 flats).

Sorry for the basic question, how can I make this awesome package work in Gzdoom or Lzdoom? I tried to change the extension to .pk3 and load it with ZDL 3.2.2, but in Doom 2 doesn't work at all and in Doom 1 only some textures changed.

For now only textures used in episode one (of first Doom) are done. Of course many of them also appear in other episodes. Just drag and drop .zip file on GZDoom.exe.

Tekwall2 and Tekwall5, both use the same patch Wall24_1.

What lighting are you using for those screenshots?

I am using GZDoom with lights and brightmaps and it still doesn't look that good.

As I said in first post, I use enhanced episode 1 version by Wran:
https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=75202

I changed sector light values in all levels from 0 to 128, so what you see on my screens is enhanced e1 wad with modified default light.

I really enjoy and appreciate how faithful these are; they don't have that gross "early 2000s photoshop effects" sheen of a lot of previous HD texture attempts. That Marbface looks gorgeous!

Thanks for good words!

Update:
Added new tekwall, sladrip animation, nukedge1 and lots of flats. All flats for episode 1 are done. As for textures there are still few to be done: brnsmal, comp2, lite2, sw1brn2, sw1brngn and that's all.
Links to version 1K, 512 and 256 are updated in opening post.

This is the best I've seen this sort of thing done. It's not for me (at least in a game like doom), but they look great.

Thanks, good to hear that kind of words.

Playing second episode with 256 (only twice the size of original) version of my pbr textures and Project Relight:

Your textures blow every other retexturing-project out of the water with a double-barelled rocket launcher!

Which Project Relight are you referring to here?

@Reinchard you beast of a man, this is insanely good work.

Some textures/materials in particular are mesmerizing to watch, thanks for sharing this.

Will you do Doom 2 after this?

That's the plan. For now, I put together literally the last texture from the first episode and start texture set for the second one.

I just tried this out and i love it 👍. Excellent work, thank you for sharing 🙂. I'm using the 1K file as i like to run doom at 4k resolution. And I appreciate that you shared low, mid, and high resolution files for the community :-)

Tekwall2 and tekwall5 are making me salivate. This project is fucking hellfire. I'd love to see one of the many seasoned Classic mappers in the community make a WAD specifically with this texture set, one where it really shines and looks much more in place on a much more carefully detailed game world than exists in the original Dooms.

Let me know If you know any other noteworthy relight project.

FYI: Hey Doomer has released a new version of his Relighting project: https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=76706

It has many improvements and massively better performance.

The Mod looks a little funny the last time I tried on Delta Touch with everything looking shadowy (hard to describe). Could be a mobile GPU thing?

Never heard about that. There were a few people on ZDoom forums who played with Delta Touch and didn't report this kind of bugs. Are you using other mods? What kind of relight are you using?
