I was able to get up to 9 artifacts, I'm still missing 3 for the normal house and 4 for the mirror, I'm at a bit of a loss at what's left to explore in the house, or if there's a way to go back to the regular house 2 after you collect the stuff in the later areas

Spoiler

Don't forget there are at least three in Ruined House 1, three in the brutalist section, and two (or two versions of the same one) in the airport. And theoretically, you might be able to get all those, finish the map, play through Underhalls, and come back. Has anyone determined yet whether your artifact tally carries over if you pass through Underhalls?

Also, didn't you say that the bathtub water world connects to the endless staircase? So if you get the stuff in later parts of the map, could you then go through the brutalism abyss or the Noclip Place to get to the endless staircase, then back to the bathtub and then back to Regular House 2?

I'll try to catch up with you guys tomorrow.

Okay. So the artifacts don't carry between levels.

Which means upon completion of the first ending and Underhalls, you're back at square one. However, while watching @Egg Boy he found an "escape button" in the boiler room of house #2 which lowers some metal box and you can walk behind the wall and go to the brutalist house without burning down the house. This also means if you fall and the void and go to the fireblu room in the stairs, the house is still intact and you can go back with the artifacts.

Edit: Okay so, big boy edit here we go.

  1. First, @Speedy Eggbert was right, the sinks absolutely affect the bathtub which takes you to a flooded house which leads to a bathhouse area. I haven't yet been able to find anything in the bathhouse area besides some ghosts because navigating it is pretty frustrating. I think there is something in there that I am absolutely missing though, because I haven't found anything in it besides the sky holes that take you back to the infinite staircase.
  2. Second, using the escape fake wall in the boiler room and going through the brutalist houses, grabbing all the artifacts, and then using the infinite stairs to get to house 2 does fill out the picture frame. So far I am missing 1 from house 2, and 3 from mirrored house 2. I haven't yet found anymore areas in either the mirrored or normal houses, which leads me to believe that I absolutely did leave something in the bathhouse.
  3. Third, thinking about how the first ending takes you back to the ruined house because you switched the breaker, I went through the brutalist house to the airport and went for the ending. After you jump, you return to the house but instead of it being burned, it's just empty. I didn't find anything in there, but the picture frame is still there. As soon as you leave the house, it's gone. I like to think this would be ending #2, or the "mediocre" ending if you think about ending #1 as being the bad ending.
  4. Fourth, during the brutalist section, I kept the dogs alive because I wanted to see if you can get the dog to do anything with the dog house. As far as I can tell, no.

I am heading to bed for now, but if someone gets to it before me y'all should try picking up the empty pill bottle without grabbing the refill. Maybe that changes something? Also during the flooded section when you are heading to the bathhouse the bookshelf covering the breaker is still open, maybe using that might do something?

this is such a cute map! i'm sure Tom would have loved it.

Spoiler

ok, real talk, i didn't read any of the comments before playing this and holy shit. this sent chills down my spine. actual chills. not many things do that to me nowadays. i'll have to go back and replay it since i didn't get all kills which meant i must've missed something. the way this map branches the different realities? realms? is so, so, so good. and the way everything just kinda creeps in slowly was masterfully done. all the little details too, like the shadow figure that slinks away in the brutalist realm when you just barely get a look at it, the entire airport section, etc.

this is a work of art. damn fine job.

Wow.

I saw downstairs say they beat it in two minutes, and when I got to the exit, I thought, "Huh, let me take advantage of being a savescummer, who saves right before the exit, and go back, because I only got 24% Kills, and I want to find the rest of the monsters." So I walk back, and I can see through the windows that the house has monsters in almost every room, so I go in, start killing them, then go up into the attic and see a portal -- how sweet that I can rip the cover off what I thought was a mirror -- and then I eventually end up in this brutalist place, but I fall off and into some deep sector, and then have to go up these stairs which have an Exit at every landing, but only a couple of them open, a Fireblu portal and a blue sky. The Fireblu takes you back to the house, but it's different -- it's always different -- so I opened another save and tried clipping out of the endless staircase, and like Jimmy said, "Worst mistake of my life." That giant, endless set of rooms, must be silent teleporters. Is there any way out of there? And that black ghost, OMG!

This is amazing! I mean, I loved it as just the first MyHouse wad that actually looked like someone's house, and a really nice one at that. And we are talking some wicked-awesome Doomcute. Based on how the house looked, the wall hangings and what-not, I'd let Veddge decorate my place. I love how the house transformed, getting prettier yet somehow wronger. Yeah, I just made up that word, but it fits, don'tcha think?

I'm sniffing masterpiece vibes here. Haven't touched an editor in 15 years, Veddge? Thank God you decided to come back, but so sorry for what brought you back.

I'm gonna start this over, and this time take the exit because I guess it won't end there, but it's wild that if you go out into the exit area, but come back, you'll find the house re-populated and transformed. Is that where the exit would take you? I'll find out. ;)

Jokes aside this is amazing. It's very similar to "The thing you can't defeat", another great wad. The PS1 switching to the Xbox had me scratching my head for awhile XD

I've caught up with the other folks hunting for the true ending, and just wanted to sum up what we have so far.

Spoiler

Based on everything we've learned, Regular House 2 is now a hub that accesses three other houses: Mirror House, Fun House, and Brutalist. From all three locations, you can get back to Regular House 2. You can also enter the bathtub and the dark hallway maze, but nothing has been found in either place yet. Each of the four houses in this hub (Regular House 2, Mirror House, Fun House, Brutalist) has exactly three artifacts. There are also known artifacts in Ruined House 1 and the airport, but we are unsure about these locations.

Regular House 1: Just the three keycards and chainsaw, no artifacts.

Regular House 2: Soda can, milkshake, Ducky (use all sinks to fill tub)
also: Use shirt in closet for green armor

Mirror House: Wine bottle, Christmas ornament, baby bottle

Fun House: Baseball, crayons, Snugs the Bunny
also: There's a Berserk in a closet on a shelf, but I couldn't reach it

Bathtub: ???

Brutalist: Dog bowl (drop to hidden ledge), pumpkin, tuna can (hidden in high vent)
also: Blue keycard opens vent to get plasma rifle, supplies
also: Ledge jump to get the Megasphere, then return via endless staircase

Ruined House 1: Tarnished history, ruined memories, innocence lost -- are you actually supposed to get these?

Airport: Empty pill bottle, full pill bottle -- are you actually supposed to get zero, one, or both of these?

Unanswered Questions:

-Still 4 artifacts left to find. 3 might be the ones in the Ruined House, but how do we get there and back? There are 2 in the airport, but do we actually want to get any of them? If you get all five, that's more than the total artifact count (17 instead of 16).
-How do you get the Berserk? I think this accounts for all 3 items in the map: Berserk, Megasphere, and the Health Bonus in the airport. This seems to confirm that the Soulsphere doesn't actually count.
-What's in the bathtub?
-What's in the dark hallway maze behind the upstairs bedroom closet door?
-If you go to Underhalls (regular or mirrored), there's a Noclip Place/backrooms there. I went to the mirrored one and tried my path to the endless staircase, but the exit wasn't there. Is there another endless staircase somewhere in Underhalls that takes you somewhere else?
(Note: I tried reaching the Noclip Place from Mirror House as well. It does have the endless staircase exit in the expected location. It simply takes you back to Regular House 2.)

Slight update:

Spoiler

After I've completed all four hub houses (finishing with Brutalist, and using the endless staircase to get back to Regular House 2), I'm locked out of everything. I can't get back to Brutalist, because the escape room button is gone. I can't get back to Fun House a second time. I can't go into the bathtub (still haven't seen this house yet) or the dark hallway maze, as far as I can tell. I can only do Mirror House and Regular House 2, and I've gotten everything there that I know of.

From here, I tried going the regular route through Ruined House 1, Brutalist, and the airport. I figured at least this way, I potentially get all 16 artifacts. When I got to the airport, I tried all three ways -- no pill bottles, one pill bottle, two pill bottles -- and all just led to Ending 1.

It looks like the order of events definitely matters here. Most likely, we'll need to get all the other artifacts *before* taking the escape room to Brutalist.

If we can find three artifacts in Bath House, here's what I'd like to try: Go through Ruined House 2/Mirror House/Fun House/Bath House to get 12 artifacts, then take escape room to Brutalist. Get the three artifacts there for 15 total, and go to airport. SAVE. From airport, go to the Noclip Place, and get back to Regular House 2 via the endless staircase. See how many artifacts the art thinks we have. Try this with no pill bottles, one pill bottle, and two pill bottles. One of these should be the solution, and then we should have 16 artifacts and should be able to find a way to the ending from there.

I just found out you can go to Underhalls from the mirror world... You lose all weapons by doing so

Edit: Coming back from mirrored Underhalls puts you at Mirrored House 2, skipping House 1 and the first 3 keys entirely.

Significant update:

Spoiler

I found one artifact in the liminal pool house. Here's the path:

Start by entering here and continuing through the doorway directly on the other side, which takes you into a square hall around some lockers:

6FCBzU7m.png

When you enter this hall, go counter-clockwise. This will take you to a shower room:

zbkuk76m.png

Cross through the shower room. Turn left to reach a pool with a diving board and a giant fish monster. You can kill the fish monster, but I don't think it's required. The artifact is a D20, and it's at the bottom of the deep end of the pool.

7Mu6NZym.png

I think this is the only artifact here. The others must be somewhere else. One of them must be in that dark hallway maze in the closet. Has anyone else been there besides me?

Note: It's this closet. It seems to be totally random whether you get the maze or not when you open the door. I haven't found any real method. I just open the door, let it close, open it again, repeatedly, and sometimes it opens into this:

Except the closet, I've gotten everything you mentioned on your post + both pill bottles. I have 7/8 normal artifacts and 7/8 mirror artifacts.
I killed big fish, little fishes, and good dog.

I'm trying to find the dark closet now.

Edit: I've gotten to the brutalist section without burning the house with the escape button (apparently it only has one use? I couldn't find it again after getting the megasphere and had to reload a save), and then I've used the back-rooms to return to the House 3

Edit2: I've come from normal Underhalls with the SSG too.

Spoiler

Check the bottom of the swimming pool with the fish, towards the back end. One of the off-color squares will instead be an open pathway to swim through.

Also, other discoveries:

Spoiler

- The first time you enter the abstract grey stone and curtained apartments area, there'll be a section with a vent on the wall that requires a blue keycard. Going through the first version of the house you see allows you to get it, and opening the vent gives you a plasma rifle and ammunition.

- IDFA seems to be referencing the fact that you're allowed to enter Underhalls once before being forcibly returned to the main map. Exiting the map in either the mirrored or normal worldspace seems to allow you to do a sort of soft 'loop', where you can keep whatever you've gained. That includes an SSG.

Spoiler

Ok, looks like I need to back up. Starting from my save in Regular House 2 before I went anywhere else, I went to the bathtub again, and got the D20.

Next artifact:

Follow asau's instructions about the pool after you get the D20. You enter a small maze of underwater tunnels, but it didn't feel like it was that hard to get through. Just keep going for a while. You come out into the "garage" area of Liminal Pool House, which is outside high up in the sky. You can hit a panel to get back to the rest of Liminal Pool House (it's two-way, no worries).

Out here, there's some ammo and some enemies. If you cross the walkway, look right. You'll see a distant platform with something small on it. That's a wedding ring over there.

Spoiler

To get to it, stand on the black square in the middle of the walkway and take a "walk of faith" over to the other black square in front of the ring's platform. Get it and come back.

The door at the far end of the walkway goes to Brutalist. Don't take it unless you have everything else from the hub. Otherwise, go back through the pool house to the endless staircase to Regular House 2.

On to the dark maze now. Sounds like Maldito found an artifact there. If so, it might be the last one we're looking for?

I never thought to find this song inside a Doom wad, nevertheless in THIS particular wad! HAHAHAHA

In the maze so far, I found a big ass room with one door. I then also found a big room with a deep pool. I tried swimming down the pool but it's infinite and it kills you at 100 hp. I also can't find the hospital that @Maldito found.

This closet maze needs some like happy music or something

It does need some happy music. I'm dreading going there again...

Swim to the other side of the big pool and keep going until you find an even bigger room. There's something in the middle of it.

After you get frustrated climbing down forever, just jump down, die, and wait for the screen to fade to black.

It seems that the pill bottle is required as the last artifact to be picked up, entering back into the house from the airport sequence WITHOUT IT, instead lands you in an almost empty, but pristine home ready for realty, and after stepping outside it's gone.

Spoiler

Theories on looping through the differing houses;
- House fire is likely the absolute final path to take.

- Pristine home ready for realty is if you're just close enough.
- The house keeps staying the same if you've attained all the artifacts, atleast in the main worldspace.

Massive spoilers on this next one. Keep the beauty of this secret unknown if you want to experience it firsthand.

Good news: I don't think there's a mirrored dark closet.

Mirrored all artifacts spoiler

Spoiler

Pressing use on the payphone of the mirrored gas station makes a clunk sound.

The last artifact I was missing was the pills from the airport (I got both). And I didn't even go to the dark closet in this save! (so it is optional?)

I think IDCLIP is mandatory as I don't know how else to get back from the Airport, unless there's a way to
(dark closet spoilers)

Spoiler

get the pills from the Hospital and get back to the house without IDCLIP. Maybe they count as an artifact?

I'm very close to getting it all, but still missing one artifact. I got two in the pool house. Are there three there?

Alternatively: I got through the dark maze and just got the empty pill bottle, which isn't even shown on the living room art (so it isn't one of the 16 artifacts), and which seems to be redundant with the one in the airport bathroom. Did I miss another artifact in the maze?
