How to improve music on Linux?

I just compiled eternity to test it on linux and no matter what midi device I select (Default/ADLMIDI), the music sounds horrible, any solution?

This post I made is a bit outdated, but you can try it. The first and most important question is if you have a (good) soundfont; if not, the one in my post is a good start.
