  1. Touhou chicks when? On a more serious note, is there a write up of all the content included?

    [RC5] EVITERNITY II - RC5 Released!

Awww, I thought MAP04's goofy ahh guitar was fully intentional. Gotta hang on to my RC1...
  3. A really cute idea, and I've been looking for an unorthodox texture pack, so thank you for bringing this one up. Are any mods required to play your map?

    [RC5] EVITERNITY II - RC5 Released!

The Innkeeper is one of the most captivating MIDIs I've ever heard. Usually, the intermission theme is hard-hitting and exciting, a moment of celebration of overcoming another challenge. The Innkeeper instead starts somber, feeling more like a requiem for the level. But it is also relaxing and in a way mysterious, playing into the sense of wonder and discovery the WAD brings. So... May I get some insight into why it was written/chosen as the intermission theme?

    [RC5] EVITERNITY II - RC5 Released!

Awesome as always in all aspects. Really love the approach to secret maps. Minor nitpick, but I would prefer to have the map numbers be in style of Doom 1, E1M1, E3M2, etc. Maybe I should modify the MAPINFO myself...

    Forest/Mansion Test Map .WAD

Please tell me this is myhouse-type sort of deal, but instead of a creepy diary there's forum shitposting.
  7. Thanks for the kind words, and yeah, I didn't restrict myself with Supercharge assets, so the mapset doesn't give you any time to adjust if you're not familiar with it. As for the pinkies, I don't think so, it's pretty much an aesthetic option, like the Goth Shotgun Guys.
  8. Sure I think you've described my shtick perfectly. Doom is a bit of a comfort game to me, and I try to reflect this in my mapping. And yeah, I always get bored when it comes to prettying up the maps - just can't focus on aesthetics at all.
  9. No particular rules besides mapping during October, right? I've got a job and haven't been able to return to mapping since, maybe this would help me.

so... putting actual music in wad.

I mean, Doom wads are an expression of your own identity, and if you feel like the midi just doesn't suffice, it's your call. As already have been mentioned, if the song is copyrighted, it probably won't fly on idgames, but here on Doomworld I don't think anyone would care too much. And you stated that you're making the wad for fun. What's fun about caring about copyrighted material? :^) Aw, come on now, it's the year 2023 and we've got 130GB games coming out. I don't think a 100mb Doom map would hurt anyone.

    [FINAL RELEASE] Eviternity

But Eviternity is a product of the late 2010s. Doom modding scene is one of the most prolific due to the fact that the game evolves among with the community constantly. Doom can be whatever you want it to be, and sticking to Doom (1993) aesthetic is a little silly when you've got infinite possibilities to explore.
  12. Considering in the OP you're stating that you would like to work in the game industry... Why not go with what you are familiar with and give a shot at making a GZDoom game?

The Dean of Doom series (companion thread)

Finally, some proper Guardian Angel Loses Their Will appreciation. I've been thinking of an alternate timeline where the Dean reviews AV with the midi pack already out, but this will do!
  14. I'd say you can jump right into it without playing the first one. It's a sequel in a very loose sense, and, while carrying Jaska's distinct mapping style, a completely different flavor of Doom experience.
  15. Just got through it, blind run, no secret content found.
