    12 Maps I Loved This Year

    I missed out completely on Afternoon, I'll have to check it out at some point. It's insane to me how many MIDIs Korp has created in the past year or so lol. I don't want to write an entire post about it so I suppose I'll say it here that I was quite happy to see El Viaje de Diciembre take one of the runner-up awards this year. The atmosphere it creates really captured me, it feels very lived in, but also like it died long before you ever arrived. Its really inspired me and influenced the current project I'm working on.

    Idk that was my best guess lol, I don't know what other reason anyone would pay for this is. Maybe if you wanted to pay him to appear in a youtube video or something.

    Sweet map, had a lot of fun playing through it. The combination of the green and the darker OTEX stuff works well together. My only problem was that the lift texture kind of blended into the rest of the architecture, making it kind of tough to identify them as lifts. Other than that though I really enjoyed it, happy 30th!

    The final Black Diamond release is finally up on the idgames archive, thank you to everyone whose shared their experiences with this set! (My older release, Mercurial Dregs, is also on idgames but I don't want to update that thread.)
  8. I enjoy mixing in Barons within larger groups of Hell Knights, both to break things up visually but also because it creates a fun mindgame for the player to deal with. I've noticed players generally want to shoot the bigger, badder demons with more health, but really you should be shooting at the HK's who'll die faster, meaning less green shit is flying at you and you clear up space faster.

    You've come a long way from your first Thanksgiving map lol. Visually it's very striking with some tough as hell fights to boot. I really enjoyed this map, and I love its beguiling atmosphere.

    Updated to fix some texturing / lighting problems, shouldn't cause any demo desyncs or anything but I kept the old version available just in case.
  12. Empire is a compilation of 9 Boom compatible speedmaps for DOOM II themed around concrete/tech compounds and whatever accenting color I felt like choosing. Difficulty ranges from medium to quite difficult, all difficulties have been implemented so feel free to drop down if you have to. Each level is designed to be played from pistol start, and testing was done in DSDA.     @nobleflame When I was testing it I found the most consistent method was to put yourself between the corner closest to the waterfall and the gargoyle pillar to avoid being shot by the cyberdemon while getting the revenants caught on the wall. Most of the demos I watched had people baiting the cyber into shooting the revs which I didn't find very reliable.

    Very beautiful map & a perfect midi choice. It sort of reminds me of Darkroot Garden from Dark Souls 1, with all the ancient temples buried within a dark forest area.

    @Billa Looks like there's gonna be a final final version after all then lol. Thanks for pointing that out, it seemed one of the blue skull rock things was hovering over the edge of the pillar it was on. I think when I first started working on this I had like, just finished Sunlust on UV for the first time so that influence really crept over lol.
