    Dead Space Remake

Yeah and have it be 400GB and take twice as long to develop. This is full blown remake, not a remaster. As for DS3, I'm not about to say it was as good as the first two games but I always thought it worked as a sci-fi monster shooter with gory horror elements and some cool looking environments.... kind of like Doom 3 if that had been fun to play. Take that, haters!

    Dead Space Remake

Also Callisto seems a bit lacking in monster design/variety compared to DS, if the admittedly short trailer is anything to go by. Maybe they're deliberately not showing a lot of stuff idk. Dead Space is fire, as the kids might say. Looking forward to playing the remake very much, with all the luxuries that modern hardware brings. I'm also very curious about the brand new areas. And assuming it's a success, hopefully thet remake the sequels further down the line (bah to everyone who hates DS3).

All games from id Software, in just one universe

I think Doom and Quake literally do, though I don't think the idea has ever been expanded on in earnest. Wolfenstein maybe, at least in my headcanon.
  4. Depends. I feel like there's a difference between, say, having extreme views on race and being a child molester. One is deeply saddening, the other is grotesque. One I can overlook and not judge the art by the artist, the other I just can't enjoy anymore.
  5. Love it. Definitely one of the better examples of first person horror games that have been very fashionable over the last decade, and a good example of how to soft reboot a series. As much as I liked the RE2 remake I hope they don't abandon the direction they took with 7 and spend the next few years just doing remakes.

    Mr noodles

Being British, I only recognise Pot Noodle as the supreme ruler of noodle snacks, nothing can convince me otherwise.
  7. Unpopular opinion: I'm ok with the next Doom game/thing not having Mick's music. He's great but I think his style has outstayed its welcome after two games, with Eternal's OST not doing anything very different to 2016's while not being as good either. Tough act to follow I guess. There are plenty of games I would love to see (hear?) him involved with but that's another story. But it's unfortunate that things ended the way they did and I wouldn't blame him for being pissed off about it.
  8. Actually he's a pretty cool miniboss, and of all the complaints I have about the gameplay this is the least of them. He becomes more of a problem late game when he's got company but that's to be expected right?

This does not feel like a Doom game

I was being sarcastic, though I completely agree with you.

This does not feel like a Doom game

Not really. If you want to rip and tear you're going to have to spend some time getting good, or just turn the difficulty down. And if you die a few times in a boss fight you can equip the Sentinel Armor, which is basically god mode. I don't want to go off on another rant here but I don't know why the game has to be so ball bustingly hard, even on HMP. Did they play Dark Souls or Nioh for 5 minutes and think "hey hard games are fashionable so let's make Doom super hard"?

What's 1 quirky thing about the place you live?

I live in a semi-rural place (hard to explain unless you also live in such a place), there's a small farm nearby that seems to farm... mud. They don't grow crops, there are never any cows, sheep, pigs, chickens or anything else one might associate with farming. They just drive tractors and leave mud all over the road.
  12. It's as good an excuse as any to stay indoors and play video games. Every cloud.

Is anybody else seriously disappointed with Eternal?

I agree with much of what you're saying but I've already moved on from Doom Eternal. I'm happy that lots of people are enjoying it, but it's really not my cup of tea. Honestly I'm having more fun replaying Doom 64 that I got as a preorder bonus (yeah yeah I know).
