Game that everybody likes but you dislike

Ohh, right, I just thought of an actual videogame series that I don't like (and therefore don't usually think about). The entire souls franchise as well as Elden Ring. I was turned off of it after playing Dark Souls 1 and found it to be completely bat shit nonsense that almost felt like combative (as in, trying to attack/wound) cultural satire to me. The gameplay was good, very good, but the entire setting was almost offensive in how warped and nonsensically caricatured of the west it was. I was able endure it, though, until I arrived at underground angkor wat. I dropped it there and have not touched any of the western psychosis games Miyazaki fever dreamed up since. Now, I realize that this is a very VERY beloved franchise, but if it were turned around to Japan then straight up recreating Takeshis castle with nonsense weapons would STILL be more subtle and tame than any of the souls/elden ring gmes. In fact I have a hard time coming up with things as nonsensical as that, probably why games made in the west about Japan are usually very accurate and careful. Probably consulting experts in flute playing and the like isntead of I dunno, creating a bagpipe shakuhachi that's played with the ass or something, wielded by a giant sumo wrestler wearing a completely insane samurai armor festooned with wiggly phallic shapes from whose tips dangle US truck nuts or something. Ok, guess I can think of something after all, but not more than that. I have ONE! (1) Smough equivalent now, nothing else. I can't go insane-oh enough to fill in the rest. P.S.: No, really, if you consider my post too contentious, try conceptualizing Japanese Dark Souls, Sekiro doesn't cut it, it's too close to reality, it's just flashy and has supernatural foes. It's gotta be as insane as DS. Good luck trying to pull that off, I'd almost say I can guarantee it that you'd be more respectful and gravitating towards real lore and culture than fromsoft is toward the west with the souls stuff.

Game that everybody likes but you dislike

Chess. I'm too impatient for it, but it's easier and more believable to just say that i'm too stupid for it instead of wanting to sit down and learn openings and whatnot. From experience, the latter makes people less inclined to try and teach me and all that. Chances are tho, that that's just copium and that I really am too damn dumb for it, but I like to think that if I actually did sit down, that I'd get decent at it. Ah well. A mystery forever.

    What are you?

I'm the thing that makes AAA developers mad whenever someone creates it in a character creator despite their best efforts to dissuade or prevent it.

    Best years of your life?

Only things that are going downhill are: Media (don't care that much) The internet (care a little bit, but not limitless) English language (at least from the USA) First two are utterly nonessential and the more they push people away, the kind of better, and the third is extremely easy to fix on a personal level. I shun most media and I have more offline hobbies and connections now than online ones, and my English is pretty decent and virtually cancer free, and those things are the biggest sources of grief for the majority of first world people. I am nostalgic for some things, but I think I appreciate my growth more than any of that nostalgia stuff, since I can preserve it, since it was so media based, and now I don't feel like I need much of that at all. No problems.

    Do you do any drugs?

Only caffeine (pretty much daily) and ethanol (ranges from huge ass breaks to having a bit daily). Never exceeded any wild threshold in either. Never been blackout drunk, hel, I only came close to some tunnel vision once. Never been ultrawired. That said, if it didn't have the chance of heart attacks, then I'd totally go for cocaine, for I suffer from extreme Jeb Bushitis sometimes, ultra low energy. I should have a big boy stimulant in those cases as a treat, damnit. I wanna function.

Why people delete their good works?

That can have various reasons, including the fact that self perceived suckage and rockage can result in deleted works. I suck: Deletion out of frustration, disgust. I rock: Deletion cause, so good at it that making another one is no sweat. The latter one is extremely common in the more quick arts like drawing (sketches) or music (coming up with basic, but great sounding tracks), especially online. If you get skillful at one of those, and do a stream of it, and delete your entire draft cause you know you can not only do it again, but probably better, always has a high chance of some people going "Ahhhh why would you do this?" the moment you do it.

    Recommend me Anime!

Juuni Kokki/Kokuki (twelve kingdoms), the best isekai anime in existence, in my opinion. Very good worldbuilding, relatively few plot holes. Starts a bit weak though cause to make the arc of the protagonist girl complete, she had to be really pathetically whiny at first. Oh, and it ended with an unfinished last season, but that would have sucked a bit anyway, so the second to last season is the last season. And yes, I still consider it the best isekai anime despite those listed flaws. Disregard the last season and use the second to last at it, tough it through the first 2 episodes or 3, and you're good. If you hate it afterwards still, then dropping it is probably best, but if you can stick with it, you'll most likely like it to the end. I have many other recommendations but dropping only an isekai one, one of the most overdone and loathed genres now, is something that amuses me. But yeah Juuni Kokki is great. It also shares some of the 'stock' music used in some of the Heroes of Might and Magic games, so, if you like the music in those, you'll get some extra nostalgia for free in JK.

    opinions on pineapple on pizza?

I think it goes well with ham and the cheese, making it a sort of Hawaiian toast, which is probably as Hawaiian as pineapple pizza is Italian. Yeah, I just looked it up, Toast Hawaii was invented by Germans, just like Spaghetti Ice cream and well, canned ravioli isn't really eaten in Italy either, I don't think. Pretty good treat, tho. To all of that, even the ravioli, as a child, anyway.

    I love Youtube's war on ad-blockers

Even the FBI warned about ads, internet ads are just very bothersome, but even without ads in the question, I'd still say: yes. YT sends out subscriber milestone badges, after all, not "viewed ads badges". If I subscribe to someone, then I'm a contributer to the system. But back to ads: Theyare unsolicited, non contracted things, what if I don't have any money and literally cannot buy anything after paying the necessities (and internet, but without that there wouldn't be ads anyway)? Hel, money itself is BS, not my fault that system was invented and then shaped the way it is that causes an unending debt train where every dollar basically is an IOU to the master bank, and thus forces everyone to "make money". The resources matter. If video hosting sites were considered a human right then providing the resources, the actual resources, not money resources to it to keep it running, would solve that issue. There are so many things that are worth fixing more than trying to keep ads alive. I approve more of simply shutting down all public access to youtube as a privately owned website and demanding a fee for it than ads, because i am a proponent of contracts. Contracts are one of the most reliable ways to set up a business relationship/transaction... they should do that if they want to be sure. Otherwise, it's just a sore, and one that involves one of the most obnoxious things in existence, unsolicited adverts. I ain't buying, If I am interested in something then I'll actively look up 'ads'. Meh. P.S.: unless it has changed, the YT "You get three videos to watch and then it's curtains!" is cookie based, and perhaps IP based too, or whatever. All I know is that it's highly erratic, sometimes it crops up, sometimes it doesn't. Not logging into the account prevents it from appearing, etc.

    I love Youtube's war on ad-blockers

Too lazy to check for other browsers, but I use firefox, and I shall now list some good addons I use to not even fall into "scrolling" traps. Youtube: Unhook. Allows the selective hiding of all things youtube, no more recommendations, other videos, merchandise tickers, or even comments, and more. Block Site: A configurable addon that does what the name suggests, includes a 'pause unblocking' option for a few minutes which can sometimes be useful if you blanket block social networks like I do, but some actually relevant thing crops up as a search result. And speaking of search results: uBlacklist: Removes sites from internet search results, I have reddit and facebook blocked, for example, because I got sick of Google being a de facto reddit search engine front end. That said, the war against adblockers is a futile one, as is the war against enshittification, you cannot have "modern sensibilities" satisfied without it, long time growth for big mainstream companies that do any type of communication/media is now impossible because the weight of the sum of things one has to care about is just too crushing. Which some call evolution (like language) or progress, but it really is just death. That's fine tho, renaissances have happened throughout history in response to such stiflings, and if history repeats itself as it is often used for scaremongering, then the good will repeat too. Edit: Oh yeah, for some reason, for the time being, YT still supports RSS. Thus: You can use that instead of waiting for subscription notifications. With the new ID system, I think you can just paste the channel address into any (modern?) reader. (I personally use quiterss)

    The Ultimate Bloat

Add a ten thrillagorillabyte software suite to render a simple textured quad. Aka "engines". It's not just games tho, anki, that flashcard program, building it ...the files the build system pulls and generates take up more space than my entire operating systems software, and I use Slackware linux, aka "Install everything from the repo because of no automatic dependency resolution". Does not really matter that much ,but that fact still "amused" me.
